Sign who you likeAnyone on the open market each summer, up to 25 signings in all. Only your best XI and three back-ups count. Ratings stay hidden.

Only English footballEach summer's market is the players at Premier League and Championship clubs that season, plus anyone who really moved to an English club that summer. Leave England and they're gone: Ronaldo is on the market in 2009, then off to Real Madrid. Arrive and they're yours to sign: Agüero from 2011.

Hijack the marketSign a player and he joins you instead. His real club loses him.

A typical seasonEach season runs 1,000 times and you see the most typical result, never a lucky one.

Why can't I see ratings?
Because hindsight is the skill. Every player has a hidden rating for every season, built from his real club, minutes, goals and league. You know who turned out to be good. Use it.
